!OBITUARY:Jimmy “Wayne” Campbell, 75, husband of Donna Diane (Taylor) Campbell, of Churchville, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at the Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville.

Mr. Campbell was born in Florence, South Carolina on October 15, 1950, a son of the late Joe Spencer Campbell and Margaret Virginia (Cooper) Campbell.

Wayne was formerly employed by McQuay as a pipefitter and welder and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and mushroom hunting.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his step-son, Michael Argenbright.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 32 years, is a son, Jeremiah Campbell of Craigsville; three daughters, Marie Campbell and Margaret Campbell both of Fishersville, and Jesse Campbell of Clifton Forge; a brother, Billy Joe Campbell of Marion, SC; a half-brother, William Burke Campbell of Jacksonville, FL; his best friend, Glenn Arrington; a special cousin, Betsy Mahon; seventeen grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastor Dennis Taylor.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.

61935 !NOTE:This Peter STROUD is probably the one called "Big Peter Stroud";

!NOTES:Peter Stroud (Jr) and Margaret Curtis Stroud had a proven son named "Peter" per various sources. However, which Peter was it? This one, Peter Grayson Stroud (1807-1872) seems the only choice.
Why?
1. Fits age-wise.
2. Fits name-wise.
3. Children of Peter Jr's proven son James lived with Peter G. in 1860 and next to him in 1870. Makes sense if he was their uncle.;
