However, I am interested in all Davis families in western North Carolina to some extent. * I am interested in all Burke County Davis families through 1860. * I am not particularly interested in other Iredell County Davis families, but this one intermarried into my own Davis family once they moved to Burke / Yancey County, and later to Cherokee / Graham County. * There does not appear to be any provable relationship between the Andrew Davis family and the William Davis (1730s-1841) family into which they married. However, I have DNA matches with several of Andrew's children which strongly suggests I am related to either him or his wife Elizabeth Houston. Could Andrew be a nephew of old William? Thus his children and William's would be 1st cousins once removed? It might explain a thing or two.
