Sep 13, 1832 State of NC, Surry Co. David Cockerham (90 years of age) deposed he was a Rev. Soldier and he knew Thomas Burch well who formerly resided in Surry Co., and that he married Sarah Jones of Surry Co. that he lived for several yrs. A near neighbor to sd. Thomas Burch and he understood Thomas to have been a Rev. Soldier. The sd. Thos. Burch moved many yrs ago to the adj. Co of Wilkes where he believes he died some yrs. ago. Jane Roberts deposed Surry Co NC Sep 16, 1852. 80 years of age. Said Thos. Burch and his brother Wm. Burch were both engaged in Rev War. After the close of the war Thos. Burch married Sarah Jones of Surry Co NC with whom she was well acquainted, and shortly after moved from the Co of Surry, NC. Sarah Burch was 78 yrs old in 1844. The father of Thomas Burch lived in Surry Co in 1783." Thomas was a soldier of the Virginia Continental Line. Goes on to list issue of Thomas and Sarah. Thomas C.
